MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
August 12, 1993
3001
LABORE RD.
CUP FOR
SEMI - TRAILER
PARKING
SLUMBERLAND
Garske suggested that the garage be located further
away from LaBore Road.
Sculley reported that he would rather have the garage
near the house for security reasons.
Carson noted that the doors would be facing away from
LaBore Road.
Paul Schmidt, Westwind Drive, reported that the Sculley
property is well- maintained, and he would like to see
it remain as such. Schmidt indicated that he had no
objection to the garage as long as the property
continues to be maintained as it has been in the past.
Schmidt expressed concern about the maintenance of a
parcel directly west.
Keis suggested that Mr. Schmidt call the City's Code
Enforcement Office with his concern.
The Commission asked about the timeframe for removal of
the quansit hut.
Sculley indicated that he hoped to have the quansit
hut removed next summer once the new garage is
constructed and he can transfer its contents.
Mr. Carson recommended approval of the Conditional Use
Permit to construct an accessory building (garage)
larger than 1,000 square feet as requested by Mr. John
Sculley, 3000 LaBore Road, subject to compliance with
the recommendations of the City Planner as contained in
his report dated August 6, 1993, and subject to removal
of the quansit hut from the property by August 1, 1994.
Motion seconded by Keis.
Motion carried 5 - 2. Drabik and Garske voted against.
Drabik expressed concern with the condition of the
property at 3001 LaBore Road as pointed out by Mr.
Schmidt. Drabik reported that this concern has been
raised in the past and has not been addressed. Drabik
asked what needed to be done to get a problem like this
addressed.
Mr. Paul Kaufman, Slumberland, appeared before the
Commission requesting approval of a Conditional Use
Permit to allow the addition of semi - trailer parking
area to the Slumberland site at 3060 Centerville
Road.
