MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
August 12, 1993
proposing to have 3 or 4 trucks on the property for
rental purposes. The vehicles will be parked on the
west side of the new building addition. The outdoor
storage area will be screened on both the north and
south sides. There will also be some trees planted
along the west side of the property in order to provide
screening for two trailers on the adjacent property.
The City Planner asked if the trailer parking area will
be paved.
Burton replied that it would.
The Planner pointed out that the Code requires that
outdoor storage be screened from residential areas.
DeLonais pointed out that Mr. Burton would want the
trailers visible from Country Drive so that people
driving by are aware that he has them for rent.
Burton replied that he was agreeable to screening the
trailers from the trailer park.
Keis asked about signage.
Burton reported that a small sign will be added to his
existing pylon.
There was on one from the audience present wishing to
comment on this proposal.
Drabik suggested that the number of rental trucks be
limited.
The City Planner pointed out that the rental trucks
would be limited to the paved area and that the City
could control the number of trucks in this way.
Knudsen recommended approval of the Conditional Use
Permit to allow rental and outdoor storage of trucks
and small trailers at the Best Auto and Tire Center,
Inc. located at 3011 Country Drive subject to
compliance with the recommendations of the City Planner
as contained in his report dated August 6, 1993 and
subject to the rental truck and trailer inventory being
limited to the paved surface.
Page 2
