MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
SEPTEMBER 9, 1993
Motion carried 5 - 0.
Martin and Kapsner wanted it clear that they did not
favor the variance on the north since it would mean
removal of trees which they felt would affect their
privacy and ruin their view. Martin and Kapsner only
favored the variance on the south.
PEDESTRIAN The Administrative Assistant reported that at the
MASTER PLAN direction of the City Council, City staff will be
putting together a proposed pedestrian pathway master
plan. This proposed plan will then be submitted to
both the Planning Commission and Parks & Recreation
Commission for review and comment.
COMP PLAN
Keis asked the status of the updating of the City's
Comprehensive Plan.
The Administrative Assistant indicated that discussion
of updating the Comp Plan would likely occur as part of
the 1994 budgeting process. DeLonais indicated that
there will also be discussion of this topic at the City
Council /Staff goal setting session scheduled for
October 5th.
DEVELOPMENT The Administrative Assistant explained her memo dated
PROCEDURES September 3rd recommending changes to the City's
development procedures, in order to ensure that both
the Planning Commission and City Council have full
submissions by developers prior to review at meetings.
Schletty suggested that the City have a procedure
package available to developers when they make
application explaining the types of submissions that
are required.
The Administrative Assistant reported that the City
does have these packages which are submitted to
developers at the time of application. The City
Planner will, however, review the packages to ensure
that they are as complete as possible.
Schletty reported that he never received this package
when applying for the Frederickshaven Second Addition.
The Administrative Assistant reported that the package
was probably given to Sorenson Construction when they
made application, however, Schletty indicated that he
was with Dave Sorenson when application was made and
the package was not given to them.
Page 7
