INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE <br />OF FIRE PROTECTION, LIFE SAFETY SYSTEMS AND APPLIANCES <br />Sec. 10.301 Fire appliances to be installed and maintained <br />in and upon all buildings and premises in accordance with <br />the relative severity of probable fire, including the <br />rapidity with which it may spread. <br />Sec. 10.302 All sprinkler systems, fire hydrant systmne, <br />stand pipe systems, fire alarm systems, portable fire <br />extinguishers, smoke and heat detectors, and other fire <br />protective or extinguishing systems or appliances shall be. <br />maintained in an operative condition at all times, and <br />shall be tested periodically. <br />Sec. 10.308 Automatic fire extinguishing systems shall be <br />required in accordance with type of hazard, occupancies and <br />special provisions established by other sections of the <br />Code. <br />Sec. 10.309 Sprinkler System Alarms - when serving more <br />than 100 sprinklers, automatic sprinkler systems shall be <br />supervised. <br />Sec. 10.306 Fire Alarm Systems - shall include provisions <br />for smoke detection and manual operation in interior <br />corridors, storage rooms, laundry rooms, furnace rooms, and <br />similar areas. <br />Sec. 10.401 Maintenance of fire walls, partitions <br />draft -stop and fire - resistive assemblies for protection of <br />openings shall be maintained and shall be properly <br />repaired, restored, or replaced when damaged, altered, <br />breached, penetrated, removed, or improperly installed. <br />Sec. 11.201 Accumulation of waste material or rubbish of <br />any kind shall not be permitted to endanger property and <br />occupants of the property. <br />Sec. 11.411 Persons vacating premises or abandoning any <br />premise shall remove any and all noxious and hazardous <br />materials. <br />Sec. 12.101 Exits serving every building shall be <br />maintained. <br />Sec. 12.103 Obstructions, including storage, shall not be <br />placed in the required exit way. Overcrowding - the number <br />of occupants of any building or portion shall not exceed <br />Page 47 <br />
