Hanson, City Administrator <br />RE: Copy Machine Purchase <br />Due to the provision in State Statutes <br />expenditures from the 3% Gambling Fund <br />for the regulation of lawful gambling, <br />the funds previously allocated for the <br />machine be refunded to this fund. The <br />then be charged to the General Capital <br />MAYOR <br />Raymond G. Hanson <br />COUNCIL <br />Beverly Scalze <br />Jim LaValle <br />Steve Morelan <br />Bob Pedersen <br />ADMINISTRATOR <br />Joel R. Hanson <br />which requires that <br />be for items used exclusively <br />it is my recommendation that <br />purchase of our new copy <br />cost of the copy machine would <br />Improvement Fund. <br />While I feel the net impact to the charities will result in a greater <br />expenditure over time, the process of charging on a per copy basis <br />will avoid any appearance of impropriety. <br />As an aside, the Gambling Control Board is conducting a meeting on <br />November 30th to discuss the allocation of expenses to the 3% account <br />due to the number of questions that have arisen regarding this <br />matter. <br />Page 30 <br />
