MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />SEPTEMBER 12, 2013 <br />PARKING <br />& STORAGE <br />REGULATIONS <br />FOR <br />RESIDENTIAL <br />ago, additional limitations /conditions were put on outdoor storage. The <br />Planner felt that the problems the City is encountering has more to do with <br />the mixing of the various CUPs. <br />Duray stated that he was comfortable with the language proposed for <br />"Motor Vehicle Sales, Indoor" as outlined in the Planner's report. He was <br />not sure about items a., b., and d. related to limiting the combination of <br />licenses and consideration of addition limitations on outdoor storage for <br />salvage repair. <br />Maleitzke felt it would be helpful to see what combination of licenses <br />currently existing in Ryan Industrial Park. The City Planner reported that <br />most of the auto repair businesses are also selling vehicles in some <br />capacity. He reviewed the various sales licenses that the State has, which <br />include auto sales outdoor, auto sales indoor, and wholesale licenses. The <br />Planner also indicated that most of the auto repair businesses also have <br />outdoor storage licenses. <br />Fischer felt it was difficult to make a recommendation on this issue <br />without a better understanding of the current situation. The City Planner <br />stated that he would ask City staff to put together a map as well as a listing <br />of the licenses that the Ryan Industrial Park businesses hold. Murphy <br />suggested that some pictures showing business conditions would also be <br />helpful. Murphy stated that she would not want to place additional <br />restrictions on the businesses without understanding the real issue. <br />It was suggested that additional review of this matter be tabled until the <br />next Commission meeting. The Planner noted that the moratorium was <br />extended on the auto - related uses, so the Commission has more time to <br />work on this matter. <br />Maleitzke tabled a recommended on Auto- Related Uses as outlined in the <br />City Planner's report dated September 9, 2013 be tabled until the next <br />Planning Commission meeting pending additional information from City <br />staff. <br />Motion seconded by Murphy. <br />Motion carried 5 — 0. <br />The City Planner reviewed his report dated September 9, 2013 which <br />reflects the discussion that occurred by the City Council and the Planning <br />Commission in a series of meetings and at a workshop meeting held <br />earlier this year on the issue of parking and storage on residential property. <br />The Planner reviewed each category in detail as outlined in the table that <br />-5- <br />
