MEMORANDUM TO: Abatement Contractors FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator DATE: September 12, 2013 RE: Request for Abatement Proposals The City of Little Canada is seeking quotations for asbestos and hazardous materials abatement for 3046 Labore Road. Techtron Engineering, Inc. has completed an asbestos & regulated material survey of this property (copy enclosed). We are seeking completion of the abatement activities prior to demolition based upon the following criteria: • Abatement activities shall address all items listed in the enclosed report prepared by Techtron Engineering, Inc. dated September 3, 2013. • All abatement activities (removal, storage, transportation, and disposal) performed under this project, must be done in conformance with all laws and regulations of the State of Minnesota as well as the United States Environmental Protection Agency. • The contractor awarded this job must provide workers compensation insurance at the mandated statutory limits. The contractor shall also provide comprehensive general liability coverage with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence. The City of Little Canada shall be named as an additional insured and be provided with a certificate of insurance with a minimum of ten (10) days notice of cancellation. • Utilities have already been disconnected to this property. Temporary power or other utilities are the responsibility of the selected contractor. • The successful contractor shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the City of Little Canada, its employees, elected officials, agents, and assigns from any act associated with the contractor's performance of this work. 2
