2.0 EXISTING CONDITIONS <br />2.1 Street History <br />The streets included in the Arkwright- Sunrise project are local streets providing a conveyance <br />between neighborhood properties and higher volume collector streets such as County Road B or <br />Edgerton Street. Local streets typically carry traffic volumes less than 1,000 vehicles per day and <br />have speed limits of 30 mph or less. <br />The majority of the project streets were originally constructed in the 1960's as water and sewer <br />service was extended to the area. The project streets received pavement rehabilitation in the form <br />of a 2 -inch bituminous overlay in 1987 as part of City Project 87 -26. The project streets were <br />subsequently seal coated in 1999. <br />Widths of existing streets vary and are irregular with respect to their lengths, which is expected for <br />older bituminous streets with no existing concrete curb and gutter to support the edges. Table A <br />summarizes the average widths of all existing streets within the scope of this study.
