MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 25, 2013 <br />PARKING The City Planner reviewed his report dated September 9, 2013 relative to <br />AND parking and storage regulations on residential properties. He noted that a <br />STORAGE series of meetings were held earlier in the year to consider changes to <br />FOR these regulations. Based on these discussions, changes were made in <br />RESIDENTIAL the table that the Council has in their agenda packet, and the Planner <br />PROPERTIES indicated that he will have the accompanying graphic updated as well. <br />The Planner noted that at the last Council and Planning Commission <br />workshop, the direction was to update this information based on the <br />discussion and bring it back to another workshop session. The Planner <br />indicated that the Planning Commission has requested that the Council call <br />for a joint workshop with them on Thursday, October 10th, to review this <br />matter. <br />Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -9 -171— CALLING A JOINT WORKSHOP <br />WITH THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR THURSDAY, <br />OCTOBER 10, 2013 AT 6:00 P.M. TO DISCUSS PARKING AND <br />STORAGE FOR RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES AS WELL AS AUTO - <br />RELATED USES IN THE B -2, B -4, AND I -1 ZONING DISTRICTS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />McMENEMY The City Administrator reported that he has received the appraisal opinion <br />ROAD letter for the MeMenemy Road properties in Little Canada that are a part <br />IMPROVEMENT of the City of Maplewood's improvement in the Arkwright- Sunrise area. <br />The Administrator indicated, however, that he has not had a chance to <br />review this information. The Administrator reported that Little Canada's <br />share of the cost of this project is $243,000 with $62,000 of that amount to <br />be assessed against the benefitting Little Canada properties. The <br />Administrator indicated that the next step in the process is to call for an <br />improvement hearing to discuss the project with the Little Canada <br />property owners. <br />The Administrator reported that the Maplewood City Manager is <br />interested in discussing the issue of annexation of these Little Canada <br />properties to the City of Maplewood. I -Ie reported that a meeting has been <br />scheduled for Wednesday, October 9th, to discuss this on a staff level with <br />the City Attorney, City Engineer, Public Works Superintendent and <br />himself meeting with Maplewood staff. The Administrator noted that the <br />Council discussed this option given that these Little Canada properties <br />receive all services from the City of Maplewood, and because the level of <br />7 <br />
