515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484-2177 / FAX: (612) 484-4538
June 3, 1994
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
TO: Mayor Hanson and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel R. Hanson, City Administrator
RE: Ramsey County CDBG Joint Powers Agreement Amendment
At our last Council meeting, we approved continuation in the
Ramsey County CDBG Entitlement Program. Since that date, a
number of other Ramsey County cities expressed concern about the
allocation process used to distribute those funds. While we want
to remain in the Entitlement Program, the method of distribution
does appear to warrant further attention.
A meeting was held at Maplewood on June 1st to discuss this
matter. Attached is a letter from Terry Schutten addressing some
of the issues raised at that meeting. Also enclosed is a letter
that I have sent to Judy Karon indicating that we would also like
the allocation process evaluated. I would like the Council to
ratify the position I have expressed in this letter.
Should you have any comments or questions, please let me know.
Page 57
