identify issues to be addressed by the community survey. It was <br />felt that the citizen -based committee should meet first, followed <br />by the Council /Commission /Staff committee. In that way, the <br />issues addressed by the citizen -based committee can be presented <br />and incorporated with additional topics. <br />Decision Resources estimated an additional $200 in costs for <br />facilitating the citizen -based committee, plus the cost of time <br />and postage for mailing solicitation letters. This cost could be <br />reduced if the City were to make the mailing directly. <br />With regard to a business component to the community survey, as <br />stated in his May 5th memo, it is the City Administrator's <br />recommendation that the City conduct its own mailed survey of the <br />business community. Decision Resources may be able to provide us <br />with sample questions in addition to those we deem appropriate. <br />By using this process, we should be able to ask meaningful <br />questions of`our entire business community. <br />Page 2 <br />
