Mr. Joel Hanson April 4, 1994
City of Little Canada
Page -2-
We propose to reclaim the existing bituminous material for re -use as aggregate base in
raising the roadway to its original grade. (We will also use the milled material generated
from Part 1 work for placement as aggregate base to reduce Part 2 costs). Six (6) inches
of bituminous surfacing will be replaced on the roadway the full width of the roadway. The
concrete curb and gutter on the north side of the roadway is in good condition and will
remain. A 6" bituminous berm curb will be re- installed on the south side of the roadway
as additional future settlement is anticipated.
We estimate that Part 2 can be completed for an project cost of $50,500, or $112 per lineal
foot. Estimated project costs for Part 1 and Part 2 improvements are quite favorable when
compared to the cost of complete reconstruction of the street, which is on the order of
$200 -$225 per lineal foot.
We would be pleased to meet with you to further discuss improvement options. We need
authorization to proceed with the preparation of plans and specifications for the
improvement. We intend to combine this project with other 1994 improvement projects so
as to gain an economy of scale.
Yours very truly,
BONESTROO, ROSENE, ANDERLIK & ASSOCIATES, INC.
71.
Michael C. Lynch
Encl.
Page 143
