In addition, I would
like to address the following issues that were brought up at
the meeting.
1. Pollution - SuperAmerica takes environmental issues
very seriously. SuperAmerica not only meets all
Federal, State and local requirements concerning the
environment, but in many cases it exceeds these
requirements. SuperAmerica has also taken measures to
train employees and provide the necessary tools to deal
with any spills or environmental issues that may arise.
2. Crime - SuperAmerica encourages local law enforcement
agencies to frequent their facilities. SuperAmerica
offers free coffee and fountain drinks to all law
officers. SuperAmerica discourages loitering and
constantly strives to maintain a safe working
environment for its customers and employees.
3. Traffic Study - SuperAmerica hired the firm of
Barton- Aschman Associates Inc. to do a two week traffic
study before the Planning Commission meeting. Any
information that was provided to the Commission was
done without bias and by a reputable consulting agency.
4. Use of Land - As was mentioned at the Planning
Commission meeting, the best use of the land may very
well be a service station. The lot is to small for a
fast food restaurant and a fast food restaurant will
generate much more traffic during peak hours. A family
restaurant will also generate traffic during peak hours
SUBSIDIARY OF ASHLAND OIL, INC.
Page 40
