MINUTES <br />City Council <br />June 22, 1988 <br />Softball <br />Field <br />Size (Cont.) <br />RESOLUTION NO. 88 -6 -260 - INFORMING THE <br />PARK COMMISSION THAT THE COUNCIL'S POSITION <br />ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF FUTURE RECREATIONAL FIELS <br />IS THAT THE FIELDS SHOULD BE MULTI - PURPOSE IN <br />USE AND BE DESIGNED AS 280 FOOT SOFTBALL FIELDS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Collova. <br />Ayes (4) Fahey, Collova, Scalze, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 19, Page 265. <br />Walkway In Scalze reported that the bid for trail work in Thunder Bay Park was <br />Spooner under budget and, therefore, the Park Commission would like to have <br />Park additional work added to the project. The Park Commission is recommending <br />that a pathway from the upper to lower parking lots in Spooner Park be <br />Agenda improved. <br />Addition <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 88 -6 -261 - AUTHORIZING BILL <br />SANDERS TO PREPARE DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF A WALKWAY FROM THE LOWER <br />PARKING LOT TO THE UPPER PARKING LOT IN SPOONER <br />PARK AND TO OBTAIN QUOTATIONS FOR THIS IMPROVEMENT <br />WHICH IS TO BE INCLUDED AS AN ADD -ON TO THE THUNDER <br />BAY PARK IMPROVEMENT WORK, AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />WORK TO PROCEED SINCE THE COST WILL BE WITHIN THE <br />PARK COMMISSION BUDGET <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 19, Page 266. <br />County Road Fahey reported that the Economic Development Committee has recommended <br />C that Bill Sanders be hired to prepare a report on the beautification <br />of the County Road C area since this will be a main thoroughfare through <br />Agenda the City. Fahey suggested that Mr. Sanders be invited to the July 27th <br />Addition Council meeting to explain the type of plan he could put together for <br />the area. <br />Kellogg <br />Hockey Rink <br />Agenda <br />Addition <br />Sance reported that the Recreation Department would like to do some <br />improvement work at the site of the Kellogg hockey rinks. The thought <br />is to eliminate one of the hockey rinks and add a pleasure skating rink. <br />The Department reconstructed. $20,000ehasrbeen budgetedefori this and <br />work. <br />Page -26- <br />Page 233 <br />
