Computerized Tracking: To track response and
nonresponse to the mail survey, Anderson - Niebuhr has
designed a computerized mail tracking system. With our in-
house computer facilities, we can produce the following:
♦ A database of respondents and nonrespondents
• Response rates for cells of the sample
♦ Daily status reports
♦ Mailing labels to facilitate follow -up
5. Data Analysis
Our data analysis procedures are very thorough and accurate.
Upon completion of the mail survey, we will:
♦ Review all responses for completeness and consistency.
Any inconsistencies in responses will be carefully checked to
ensure the accuracy of the information.
♦ Transfer responses to magnetic media for computer analysis.
All transfer to magnetic media will be verified.
♦ Analyze the data using our in -house computer facilities and
computer programs contained in the Statistical Package for
the Social Sciences (SPSS /PC +).
Anderson - Niebuhr has the capability of conducting a variety of
statistical analyses, from simple descriptive statistics to complex
multivariate analyses. We will work with representatives of the
City to determine precisely which statistical analyses will be useful.
At this time, we assume complete descriptive summaries of
residents and businesses are desired, along with comparisons of
subgroups based on demographics.
The City may wish to conduct a gap analysis to determine the
differences between importance and satisfaction. This will identify
areas which are seen as very important to people, but with which
satisfaction levels are not as high.
Page 19
11
