MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
JUNE 9, 1994
Davison pointed out the City's recent adoption of
revised Shoreland Ordinances which outlines the
standards which must be met.
The City Planner reported that the City's ordinances
require a 75 foot setback from the lake and do not
allow impervious surface within 50 feet of the lake.
The Planner indicated that if there is a stand of trees
near a lake, they cannot be clear cut, but selective
cutting can be done.
At this point in the meeting, 8:42 P.M., Mr. Pratt
arrived. The Commission explained their action
approving the Preliminary Plat and Variance.
Mr. Pratt reported that in developing Lots 1 through 4,
Block 2, he may want to have a shared driveway
situation for Lots 1 and 2 as well as Lots 3 and 4.
Pratt reported that he wants to be very careful about
placement of the driveways and will save as many trees
as possible.
Mr. Pratt reported that he is continuing to work with
the adjacent church which has expressed an interest in
a land trade.
Davison asked the plans for Outlot A.
Pratt replied that Outlot A will be private land for
the 14 lots for the homeowners private use and
enjoyment. There are no improvements planned for
Outlot A, and the plan is to deed the outlot over to
the homeowners association.
Pratt reported that Ed Pardee is planning to construct
a home on one of the lots in Vadnais Heights. The park
property being requested by Vadnais Heights cuts
through the lot that Pardee had chosen. Therefore,
Pardee would like an easement over a portion of Outlot
A for lake access. Pratt reported that he is still
working on that issue with Mr. Pardee.
DeLonais asked when Mr. Pratt is proposing that work
would begin on the Twin Lake Pines Addition.
Pratt estimated that work would begin in 1995 since
development of this property will be tied to phase two
in Vadnais Heights because of utilities.
