209.100. LEGAL HOLIDAYS. (A) The following holidays will be observed by full time employees: (1) (2) (3) (4) - (5) (6) (7) (8) (9) (10) New Year's Day; Martin Luther King's Birthday, the third Monday in January; President's Day, the third Monday in February; Memorial Day, the last Monday in May; Independence Day, July 4th; Labor Day, the first Monday in September; Veterans' Day, November 11th; Thanksgiving Day, the fourth Thursday in November; Day after Thanksgiving Day; and Christmas Day, December 25th. When New Year's Day, Independence Day, Veterans' Day, or Christmas Day falls on Saturday, the preceding day shall. be observed as a holiday. If one of the four (4) holidays falls on a Sunday, the following day shall be observed as a holiday. (B) Full holiday pay will be granted to all regular employees. Employees must be on active payroll status on the work day immediately preceding and the work day immediately following a holiday to be eligible for holiday pay for that holiday. Permanent part time employees will be granted pro rata holiday pay for each holiday based on the average number of hours worked per week during the eight (8) weeks immediately preceding each holiday and in accordance with -the following schedule: .. Average Hours Worked Holiday Pay Less than 20 0 20 - 23 1/2 Day 24 or more 3/5 Day (C) Any regular employee, other than the City Clerk, Building Official and Superintendent of Public Works, and any permanent part time employee, who is required to work on any of the above named holidays, shall be paid for each hour worked on the holiday at the rate of two and one -half (2 1/2) times the regular rate of pay. This rate of pay includes the holiday pay referred to above in Paragraph (B). 209.110. VACATION LEAVE. (A) No employee shall be entitled to vacation leave during the first three (3) months of City employment. Vacation leave shall be granted at the end of this time as earned for the Page 33 Page 30
