Vacation leave shall not be earned by <br />temporary employees. <br />(B) Vacation leave shall be accrued on a monthly basis <br />for each calendar month or major fraction thereof of active service <br />by all regular employees pursuant to the following schedule: <br />For Employees hired on or before October 14, 1981: <br />v• Length of Employment Leave Days <br />1 to 5 years <br />6 to 10 years <br />11 years to end of service <br />10 work days <br />15 work days <br />20 work days <br />For Employees hired on or after October 14, 1981: <br />1 to 8 years 10 work days <br />9 to 15 years 15 work days <br />16 years to end of service 20 work days <br />(C) No employee shall accrue vacation credit during any <br />period of suspension, lay off, leave of absence or other <br />off - payroll status. <br />(D) Permanent part time employees shall accrue pro -rata <br />vacation leave credit in accordance with Section. 209.110(B) and <br />based on the average number of hours worked by such employee per <br />week in accordance with the following schedule: <br />Average Hours Worked Rate of Vacation Accrual <br />Less than 20 0 <br />20 - 23 1/2 of Sec. 209.110(B) accrual rate <br />24 or more 3/5 of Sec. 209.110(B) accrual rate <br />(E) Employees may accumulate vacation leave to a maximum <br />of ten (10) working days, and carry over such maximum of ten (10) <br />days vacation from one calendar year to another. <br />(F) Employees shall take vacations only with the approval <br />of their immediate supervisor. Requests for vacation leave shall <br />be approved in writing by the Department Head. <br />(G) Vacations may be taken with concurrence of Department <br />Heads at any time during the calendar year, to a maximum of three <br />(3) days beyond the accrued leave. Should an employee leave the <br />employ of the City before accruing vacation leave equal to that <br />used, such deficit will be withheld from any monies due such <br />employee, at the rate of one hour's pay for each hour of vacation <br />leave deficit, computed on the employee's current hourly pay rate. <br />Advance payment for vacation leave to employees may not exceed the <br />total vacation pay earned. <br />Page 34 <br />Page 31 <br />
