solid waste from residences including garbage and <br />rubbish, and specifically excluding yard waste, <br />recyclables, and toxic and hazardous wastes. Refuse <br />further excludes industrial, commercial, <br />agricultural, and construction garbage or rubbish <br />and wastes. <br />H. Residential dwelling Unit. A residential dwelling <br />unit is any single family dwelling unit and each <br />unit of a duplex. A residential dwelling unit shall <br />not include: mobile homes, tri- plexes, four plexs, <br />town homes, or apartment buildings. <br />I. Rubbish. Rubbish is solid waste, including ashes, <br />consisting of both combustible and noncombustible <br />wastes, such as wood, bedding, crockery, and other <br />nonreuseable waste. Rubbish also includes <br />nonrecyclable types of glass, paper, cardboard, and <br />metal cans. <br />K. Toxic and Hazardous Wastes. Toxic and hazardous <br />wastes are waste materials including but not limited <br />to poisons, pesticides, herbicides, acids, caustics, <br />pathological wastes, radioactive materials, <br />flammable or explosive materials, and similar <br />harmful chemicals and wastes which require special <br />handling and must be disposed of in a manner to <br />conserve the environment and protect public health <br />and safety. <br />L. Bulky items. Large household items including <br />refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, washers and <br />dryers, water heaters, carpeting and padding, <br />mattresses, chairs, couches, tables, and other such <br />items of furniture. <br />4. Refuse Collection Service. <br />A. All Occupants of residential dwelling units in the <br />City shall be required by ordinance to keep garbage <br />and refuse in approved containers as described <br />below: <br />1. Exempted are residents who qualify for the low <br />volume baq rate may use stickered 30- gallon <br />trash baqs. <br />2. A container of 30 gallons or a limit of two <br />(2) containers not to exceed a total of 30 <br />gallons. <br />3 <br />Page 75 <br />
