MINUTES
Parks & Recreation Commission
February 2, 1995
the developer since the developer would save money on less
road construction. Remerowski felt that the trade would be
a good once since if nothing is done with the park land, it
could become a dump site. He would rather see homes there.
Moser stated that Sanders' plan was a nice one. However, he
would want to make sure that the lots are buildable.
Sanders stated that he would get a copy of the plan with
dimensions of the lots to Moser for his use. However, he
stated that either plan is acceptable. Moser stated that he
would present Sanders' plan to the builder for comments.
The City Administrator stated that the City Planner should
be made aware of the plan change.
Sanders stated that on his plan, he left a strip of park
land which would lead up to County Road D for possible
installation of a trail. He felt that if this strip is
deleted from the plan to give Mrs. Denery extra land for
entrance to the site, then there should be a walkway
installed between two of the lots to give residents of the
subdivision access to the trail.
Holm asked if the amount of park land the City would be
trading with Mrs. Denery would be comparable to the amount
she would be giving us. Sanders stated that the parcels are
almost equal in size.
Remerowski recommended the following regarding the park
charge for Mrs. Denery's proposed subdivision off of County
Road D:
* Accepting either plan, but preferring Sanders'
plan.
* If Sanders' plan is chosen, accepting cash in lieu
of land for the park dedication fee and trading a
portion of the City's park land to the west of the
Denery property for the southerly portion of the
Denery property in order to complete the power
line trail.
* If Mrs. Denery's plan is chosen, accepting land in
lieu of cash for the park dedication fee.
Motion seconded by Doolittle.
Motion carried 5 - 0.
The City Administrator stated that the City Attorney should
be contacted regarding trading the park land to make sure
that it is legal to do so since the park land was dedicated
-4-
Page 18
