Schact pointed out that the shoulders would address pedestrian and
bike safety concerns on the roadway.
Karolyn Kingsbury reported that someone from the County informed
her that two eleven -foot driving lanes and one five -foot shoulder
would work.
Schact felt this was misinformation that Kingsbury received.
A resident suggested Keller Parkway be made one -way with a separate
biking /walking path.
A resident asked if Little Canada would be making any decisions
within the next six weeks.
The Administrator stated that he was not sure how definitive the 6-
week schedule was. The Administrator felt it safe to say that the
residents have made their concerns known. The Administrator asked
which direction traffic should flow if Keller Parkway were made a
one -way street.
The residents felt traffic should flow from west to east from
Edgerton to County Road C.
Dr. Keenan pointed out that if Keller Parkway is made one -way and
the County then turns it over to the City, the property owners
along Keller Parkway would be responsible for paying for
maintenance of the street.
Schact reported that another question raised by the residents was
the impact of the improvement on property values. Schact did not
believe that the project would impact property values one way or
the other.
Hedlund disagreed, pointed out that the 32 foot road section would
put 32 feet of pavement between his house and his lakeshore
property.
Drabik pointed out that the pavement would be within the road
right -of -way. Drabik pointed out that the County has the right to
come in and improve the road within the right -of -way.
Schact replied that that was correct.
Chris Drake pointed out that the extra 10 foot width amounted to
two football fields of pavement. Drake asked if the Watershed has
reviewed the proposal.
Schact reported that Watershed permits are not required for County
maintenance projects.
Drake stated that the additional blacktop will add a lot more salt
12
Page 67
