to resolve a formal verbal complaint regarding an <br />interpretation and /or application of City <br />personnel policies or any disciplinary action. <br />2. If the solution provided by the City Administrator <br />constitutes, in the opinion of the employee, an <br />inequitable interpretation and /or application of <br />City personnel policies or any disciplinary <br />action. <br />B. If the complaint is not resolved in the verbal <br />complaint procedure and the employee wishes to process <br />the item as a grievance, then he /she must submit the <br />grievance in the form of a signed statement giving all <br />the facts, the provision or provisions of the ordinance <br />allegedly violated, and the remedy requested to the <br />City Administrator within ten working days of the final <br />verbal answer received under the complaint process. <br />The City Administrator will again be responsible for <br />investigating all facts and discussing the problem with <br />appropriate individuals. <br />C. The decision of the City Administrator shall be <br />considered final, but if the employee feels that the <br />decision of the City Administrator should be brought to <br />the attention of the members of the City Council, the <br />City Administrator, upon written request, will forward <br />his /her decision along with pertinent background <br />material to the Mayor and City Council within ten <br />working days of receipt of written request. The Mayor <br />and City Council will then have an additional ten <br />working days to review the information submitted and <br />communicate their findings to the employee. <br />D. The time limit above may be extended to a definite date <br />by mutual agreement of the employee and the reviewer <br />concerned. <br />40 <br />
