nature or for obvious replacements, repairs or <br />maintenance. <br />Procedure: <br />A. Employees are expected to first verbally submit the <br />suggestions to the immediate supervisor for his /her <br />consideration. If the suggestion cannot be adopted, an <br />explanation shall be made to the employee by the <br />employee's immediate supervisor of the reasons for that <br />decision. <br />B. If the employee is dissatisfied with the response given <br />by the supervisor, he /she may then verbally submit <br />his /her suggestion to the City Administrator. <br />C. The same channels of communication will be followed in <br />the written procedure as was followed in the verbal, <br />with all communication carried out in written form from <br />the employee to the supervisor to the City <br />Administrator. <br />D. Each suggestion submitted by a City employee will be <br />noted in the employee's personnel file as an indication <br />of interest and initiative. Whoever receives the <br />employee's suggestion will be responsible for notifying <br />the City Administrator's office of the employee's idea <br />for this purpose. <br />E. Implemented suggestions will be recognized as the <br />contribution of the employees offering them by <br />including a copy in his /her personnel file, by notice <br />on the employee bulletin board, and by letter of <br />commendation to the employee with copies to members of <br />the City Council. <br />50 <br />
