When New Year's Day, Independence Day, Veterans' Day, or Christmas Day <br />falls on Saturday, the preceding day shall be observed as a holiday. If <br />one of the four (4) holidays falls on a Sunday, the following day shall be <br />observed as a holiday. <br />(B) Full holiday pay will be granted to all regular employees. <br />Employees must be on active payroll status on the work day immediately <br />preceding and the work day immediately following a holiday to be eligible <br />for holiday pay for that holiday. Permanent part time employees will be <br />granted pro rata holiday pay for each holiday based on the average number <br />of hours worked per week during the eight (8) weeks immediately preceding <br />each holiday and in accordance with the following schedule: <br />Average Hours Worked UoJ Y_,gly <br />Less than 20 0 <br />20 - 23 ' 1/2 Day <br />24 or more 3/5 Day <br />(C) Any regular employee, other than the City Clerk, Building <br />Official and Superintendent of Public Works, and any permanent part time <br />employee, who is required to work on any of the above named holidays, <br />shall be paid for each hour worked on the holiday at the rate of two and <br />one -half (2 1/2) times the regular rate of pay. This rate of pay includes <br />the holiday pay referred to above in Paragraph (B). <br />209.110. VACATION LEAVE. <br />(A) No employee shall be entitled to vacation leave during the <br />first three (3) months of City employment. Vacation leave shall be <br />granted at the end of this time as earned for the three (3) month period. <br />Vacation leave shall not be earned by temporary employees. <br />(B) Vacation leave shall be accrued on a monthly basis for each <br />calendar month or major fraction thereof of active service by all regular <br />employees pursuant to the following schedule: <br />For Employees hired on or before October 14, 1981: <br />I,_grflth of Fmgloyment weave ,pals <br />1 to 5 years <br />6 to 10 years <br />11 years to end of service <br />10 work days <br />15 work days <br />20 work days <br />For Employees hired on or after October 14, 1981: <br />1 to 8 years <br />9 to 15 years <br />16 years to end of service <br />10 work days <br />15 work days <br />20 work days <br />(C) No employee shall accrue vacation credit during any period of <br />suspension, lay off, leave of absence or other off- payroll status. <br />Page 27 <br />PAGE 63 <br />
