TO: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
FROM: Jerry Bourdon, City Engineer
DATE: November 10, 1994
SUBJECT: Australian & Bluwood cul -de -sac / connection street
Information for Neighborhood Meeting
INTRODUCTION
This memo provides information concerning cul -de -sac or connection street improvements
to Australian and Bluwood.
The purpose of the information presented herein is to inform area residents of road
improvement issues being considered in their neighborhood. The improvements to be
discussed are just possibilities and offered for discussion purposes only. No substantial
discussion or decisions about these matters have been made by Council or staff. Before
Council and staff pursue discussions of these matters, neighborhood input is necessary to
clarify staff and Council's thinking on this issue.
The information presented in this memo is intended to inform area residents of the issues
so they can be prepared to present their opinions at the neighborhood meeting.
Subsequent sections of this memo provide background information. A sketch illustrating
the issues is also attached.
Street improvements are being contemplated because:
1. the existing dead end streets do not meet road design standards,
2. a cul -de -sac or through street is necessary to create enough street frontage to
accommodate a lot split request by Mr. Tina, and
3. At some point in the future, Bluwood and Australian will be reconstructed to current
city standards and the cul -de -sac issue will have to be addressed.
Bonestroo, Rosene, Andertik & Assoc., Inc.
Page 20
1
