MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 26, 2014 <br />*APPROVAL OFA REFUND OF 10% FUND OVERPAYMENT TO <br />LITTLE CANADA RECREATION ASSOCIATION FOR 2012 AND <br />2013; <br />*APPROVAL OF 2014 TREE CONTRACTING SERVICES TO <br />PRECISION LANDSCAPE & TREE AS RECOMMENDED BY THE <br />PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (3) <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />FIRE The City Administrator presented the Council with a 90 -day contract <br />DEPARTMENT with the Little Canada Fire Department, extending the current contract <br />CONTRACT through June 30, 2014. He noted that this will provide additional time to <br />study the issue of Fire Relief Pension Benefits and bring a <br />recommendation back to the Council. It was hoped that the study would <br />be completed by March 318`; however, the additional time is needed. <br />Contract language remains the same except for the extension date and <br />signature line for the Acting Mayor. <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -2 -43 - APROVING THE CONTRACT <br />EXTENSION THROUGH JUNE 30, 2014 WITH THE LITTLE <br />CANADA FIRE DEPARTMENT AS PRESENTED BY THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR AND AUTHORIZING THE ACTING MAYOR <br />AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE <br />CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss. <br />Ayes (3). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />WATER The Public Works Superintendent reviewed his report dated February <br />TOWER 20, 2014 outlining the need to repaint the City's water tower. He reported <br />REFURBISH- that the water tower was last painted in 1989. The Superintendent <br />MENT noted that this painting lasted for 25 years, which is at least 5 years longer <br />than the average. The water tower has been inspected numerous times <br />over the past 15 years and the most recent inspection resulted in the <br />following recommendation: <br />o Blast and repaint the interior wet surface of the tank; <br />10 <br />
