MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />May 14, 2014 <br />WORKS -PARKS FACILITY AT 2858 CENTERVILLE ROAD AS <br />REQUESTED BY THE MN POLLUTION CONTROL AGENCY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CITY HALL The City Administrator reported that planning has started for the <br />REMODELING remodeling work at City Hall. He noted that James Steele Construction, <br />UPDATE the project manager, has suggested that a number of the work items could <br />be addressed by them on a time and material basis. These items would <br />include sheetrock repairs, bathroom floor tile repairs, exterior siding <br />corrections, cabinet repairs, etc. The hourly rate would be $85 and work <br />would be performed by the Project Superintendent, Mary Schauer. The <br />Administrator felt that this was an efficient way to accomplish a number <br />of tasks for this project, and recommended approval. <br />Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014-5-87 — AUTHORIZING MARV SCHAUER <br />OF JAMES STEELE CONSTRUCTION TO ASSIST WITH THE CITY <br />HALL REMODEL PROJECT AT A RATE OF $85 PER HOUR AS <br />OUTLINED IN THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT DATED <br />MAY 9,2014 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LANDSCAPING The City Administrator reported that the City has two projects where some <br />EXPENDITURES landscaping allowances are needed. The first relates to the Pinetree Ponds <br />project and the Gail Acosta property. At the time the plat for Pinetree <br />Ponds was approved, the City informed Acosta that it would accommodate <br />some plantings for screening purposes on the property line between her <br />land and the development. Acosta has submitted a landscaping request, <br />and the City obtained a quote for $1,360 for this landscaping. Staff <br />recommended that Ms. Acosta be reimbursed for the landscaping subject <br />to installation. <br />The second project involves the remaining sidewalk on Little Canada <br />Road west of St. John's Church. As consideration for granting a sidewalk <br />easement, the property owner asked for additional screening given the <br />close proximity of the sidewalk to the house and the fact that two large <br />16 <br />
