MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 11, 2007
REPLACEMENT $72,050. The Administrator reported that Roof Spec, Inc. will handle the
construction management of this project. Roof Spec has reviewed the
bids. They reported that although they have not worked with All Systems
Roofing in awhile, they have worked with them in the past and have found
the company to be somewhat challenging to work with. This was
reviewed at length with Roof Spec, and based on the discussion there was
nothing found to warrant disqualification of All Systems Roofing's low
bid.
The Administrator reported that Roof Spec has had some discussions with
All Systems Roofing relative to the specs, and the roofing company has
been told that specs must be complied with and are not open for debate.
The Administrator reported that it will be Roof Spec's responsibility to
ensure the job is done well and according to spec. The Building Official
will also have some oversight on this project.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2007-4-90 -AWARDING THE LOW BID OFALL
SYSTEMS ROOFING IN THEAMOUNT OF $72,050 FOR THE FIRE
STATION ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan.
Ayes (4).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
BOSS The City Administrator reviewed the City Engineer's report dated April
ROAD 11, 2007 relative to the Boss Road improvement. The report noted that
IMPROVEMENT the improvement includes the removal of a nonconforming cul-de-sac at
the end of Bryan Street. The Engineer recommended that the
improvement be expanded to include the removal as well as the
construction of a uniform street extension transitioning Bryan Street to
Boss Road. This will ensure proper drainage for the new street as well as
removal of the cul-de-sac, work which would be required of any developer
if the project were done privately.
The City Adminish•ator indicated that the benefiting property owners will
not want to pay additional street section that is not needed to gain access
to their property. The City Engineer's initial project estimate was
$76,100.00. Bids were opened on the 2007 Improvement Projects, and
result in assessable costs for Boss Road of $83,555.64 for the entire
project, and $76,782.08 if the Bryan Street portion is deleted from the
assessment.
7
