MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 25, 2007 <br />THE MAY 9, 2007 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AS <br />REQUESTED BY HOM FURNITURE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007-4-98 -ACKNOWLEDGING HOM <br />FURNITURE'S REQUEST TO WITHDRAW APPLICATIONS FOR <br />TEXT AMENDMENT ALLOWING ELECTRONIC SIGNAGE AND <br />VARIANCE FROM THE SIGN CODE RELATII~E TO <br />FREESTANDING SIGNHEIGHT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PUD PERMIT - Mr. Blesener opened the Public Hearing to consider a request for Planned <br />2900 RICE Unit Development Permit to allow the operation of a dinner theater/ <br />STREET - banquet facility at the Market Place Shopping Center at 2900 Rice Street <br />OOPS known as the Oops Theater. It was noted that the City Planner and the <br />THEATER Planning Commission has recommended approval subject to the use of the <br />back parking lot as much as practical. <br />Pam Docken, Oops Theater, indicated that they have been in business <br />since 1999 in the City of North St. Paul, and lost their location due to <br />redevelopment. The theater has operated in Roseville since last year, and <br />would like to locate in the Market Place Shopping Center. They have <br />been working with The Little Venetian to handle the food and beverage <br />service for the dinner theater. Docken reported that all productions at the <br />Oops Theater are family friendly. <br />Blesener asked how the theater would encourage patrons to use the back <br />parking lot. Docken reported that they would do this primarily through <br />signage and with a notice on their Web site. Tim McLaughlin of the <br />Market Place Center indicated that signage would be used. <br />It was noted that The Venetian Inn will provide food and beverage service <br />at Oops Theater through their On-Sale Liquor License and Catering <br />License. Docken indicated that she will operate the theater portion, and <br />The Venetian will cater dinner and provide beverage service. <br />13 <br />
