MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 11, 2014 <br />that the janitor has asked about snow melt during the winter and mopping <br />of the lobby floor. It was noted that area rugs could be utilized in the <br />lobby as are currently. <br />*Upgrading of existing furnaces and associated condensing units (7 <br />total) with new high efficiency furnaces and condensing units. <br />Disconnect and reinstall all electrical connections to furnaces and <br />condensing units being replaced. Blesener suggested that consideration <br />be given to upgrading/enhancing the wood screening wall. He suggested a <br />railing in front of the wall may be an option. The Administrator noted that <br />at one time replacement of this wall with a brick wall was considered. <br />However, given there are numerous utilities in this area, installation of a <br />footing would be difficult. Stromsodt suggested that painting the wall to <br />match the color of the brick might also be an option. Stromsodt indicated <br />that they would look at this issue. Keis asked about the 7 furnaces in the <br />building. Stromsodt noted that the building is zoned for these 7 furnaces, <br />and decreasing the number would require redoing the duct work. <br />*Provide new electrical raceway mounted at 12" on east wall of Cable <br />TV room. Raceway will be provided with duplex receptacles mounted <br />12" on center and served with five dedicated 20A, 120V circuits. Van <br />Alstine reported that CTV is recommending 6 to 8 dedicated 20 amp <br />circuits. <br />*Provide electrical connections to new split -unit AC serving Cable TV <br />room. <br />*Replace existing electric instantaneous water heaters serving <br />lavatories and kitchen sink with new electric 6 -gallon storage tank <br />water heater. Provide electrical connection to new tank type heater. <br />*Remove electrical connection to three instantaneous electric water <br />heaters. <br />*Provide a ductless wall mounted mini -split air conditioner to serve <br />Cable TV room 108 to address the anticipated additional heat load <br />from data equipment upgrades. <br />Dever then reviewed each specific area of the City Center and the <br />corresponding proposed improvements. The first area reviewed was the <br />Entry Vestibule — Room 100. Blesener asked about replacement of the <br />front doors with handicapped -accessible doors. The City Administrator <br />asked about the ability to switch -off the power door operators when the <br />City Center is closed to avoid burning the motors out in the event that <br />someone tries to operate the power doors at times they are locked. 1 -le <br />2 <br />
