Pallet Service Corp. Limited Fire Code Consulting April 16, 2014
Also the fire code requirements identified for the property have been based on specific
information from the client in terms of the types of materials to be stored and the
methods and arrangements to be used to store the products. Pallet Service Corp. will
need to implement long term strategies to police the proper storage of materials and to
assure that the provisions in the codes are complied with as long as the storage
remains. Any changes to the storage will require a reevaluation of the fire protection
requirements in the codes.
FFCDI's current scope of work is to provide assistance with limited fire code research
and consulting for the proposed increase in storage of lumber on the property. It must
be recognized by all parties that this research is limited in scope and is not intended to
outline or identify all known hazards, standards, safety provisions or necessary
protection for this building and its operations. FFCDI is not responsible for any other
building and fire code issues related to any proposed installation and renovations unless
provided for in a change of scope and through additional services contracts.
This letter is not intended to outline or identify all known design and installation
deficiencies, standards, safety provisions or necessary protection for this type of
occupancy. The items identified in this correspondence do not represent the
requirements for employee safety (OSHA), environmental, health and safety, or
insurance company compliance. It is recommended that this operation be in
compliance with nationally recognized standards, including those referenced above and
including standards for employee health and safety; and maintenance, testing and
inspection. FFCDI has not inspected any of the buildings, fire protection equipment and
systems, or process equipment for compliance or safety.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss the contents of this letter further,
please contact me.
Respectfully,
FUTRELL FIRE CONSULT & DESIGN, INC.
Gerald W. Voss, P.E.
Pane 4 of :i
