MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 18, 2014 <br />ordinance amendment proposes adds a definition of service animals during <br />the ADA's current definition. The Attorney indicated that the City cannot <br />require service animals to be licenses, but the proposed amendment <br />required that they be registered by providing the same information for <br />non -service animals and answering the questions that the City is allowed <br />to ask — if the animal is required because of a disability and what work or <br />task the animal has been trained to perform. The Attorney noted that in <br />reviewing the Code it was also found that there is no provision authorizing <br />the City to deny or revoke licenses, therefore such amendment is also <br />being proposed. <br />Boss introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014-8-160 — AMENDING CHAPTER 1101 OF <br />THE LITTLE CANADA CITY CODE RELATING TO DOGS AND <br />CATS AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY IN HIS <br />REPORT DATED AUGUST 7, 2014 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CALL FOR The City Attorney reported that the City has received a settlement offer <br />CLOSED from the St. Paul Regional Water System's legal counsel. The Attorney <br />SESSION- recommended that a closed session be called at the end of the Council <br />ST. PAUL meeting to review this offer. <br />REGIONAL <br />WATER Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />LITIGATION <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014-8-161— CALLING A CLOSED SESSION AT <br />THE END OF THE COUNCIL MEETING TO REVIEW AND <br />DISCUSS THE SETTLEMENT OFFER MADE BY LEGAL <br />COUNSEL FOR THE ST. PAUL REGIONAL WATER SYSTEM <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CALL FOR The City Administrator reported that the City must certify its Preliminary <br />BUDGET 2015 Budget by the end of September, 2014. Ile recommended that a <br />WORKSHOP Budget Workshop be called for September 24, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. <br />MEETING <br />23 <br />
