MINUTES CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 18, 2014 ordinance amendment proposes adds a definition of service animals during the ADA's current definition. The Attorney indicated that the City cannot require service animals to be licenses, but the proposed amendment required that they be registered by providing the same information for non -service animals and answering the questions that the City is allowed to ask — if the animal is required because of a disability and what work or task the animal has been trained to perform. The Attorney noted that in reviewing the Code it was also found that there is no provision authorizing the City to deny or revoke licenses, therefore such amendment is also being proposed. Boss introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2014-8-160 — AMENDING CHAPTER 1101 OF THE LITTLE CANADA CITY CODE RELATING TO DOGS AND CATS AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY IN HIS REPORT DATED AUGUST 7, 2014 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. CALL FOR The City Attorney reported that the City has received a settlement offer CLOSED from the St. Paul Regional Water System's legal counsel. The Attorney SESSION- recommended that a closed session be called at the end of the Council ST. PAUL meeting to review this offer. REGIONAL WATER Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: LITIGATION RESOLUTION NO. 2014-8-161— CALLING A CLOSED SESSION AT THE END OF THE COUNCIL MEETING TO REVIEW AND DISCUSS THE SETTLEMENT OFFER MADE BY LEGAL COUNSEL FOR THE ST. PAUL REGIONAL WATER SYSTEM The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. CALL FOR The City Administrator reported that the City must certify its Preliminary BUDGET 2015 Budget by the end of September, 2014.
