MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 10, 2014
cost of $19,800. Again, these elements should be estimated separately so
that the Council can make decisions on the individual elements.
The Administrator reviewed the estimate of $9,800 for removal and
replacement of all cabinets in the lounge. The Administrator noted that
some members of City staff would like a stove in the kitchen, and any
cabinet configuration should provide for a stove. There will likely need to
be an electrical connection added for the stove. Council was agreeable to
cabinet replacement and the addition of a stove.
The next improvement reviewed was for the replacement of the existing
countertop in the lobby at an estimated cost of $4,500. The Administrator
noted that if the front counter cabinets are replaced, it may be necessary to
make modifications to the front counter area to comply with ADA
requirements. The Council was agreeable to the countertop replacement.
The Administrator noted that the preliminary estimate for new overhead
coiling doors at the lobby is $8,800. The Council was agreeable to this
improvement.
Next reviewed was the preliminary estimate of $19,500 for patching and
painting of all walls and frames and new wall covering in the office
hallway. Council was agreeable. There was also a preliminary estimate of
$5,900 for scraping, skimming, and painting of textured ceilings. It was
the consensus of the Council to only paint the ceilings.
The Administrator pointed out the preliminary estimate for covering the
existing screen fence on Little Canada Road with new cedar boards for
$1,700. Council was agreeable.
The Administrator noted that no estimate was made to the addition of a
patio door and patio off the kitchen area. The Council agreed that an
estimate should be obtained for this work.
The Construction Manager indicated that he would take these changes to
the Architect and have the drawings updated and the estimates refined.
The Administrator asked about recovering of the Council
Chambers/Conference Room doors. The Construction Manager indicated
that he is waiting for pricing on recovering the side of the doors facing
into the Council Chambers. The consensus was to obtain a price for all
the doors.
4
