MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 24, 2007 <br />REGULATIONS UNDER THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITYADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE <br />DECLARATION OF OFFICIAL INTENT AND THE RESOL UTIDN <br />CERTIFICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />2007 The City Administrator reported that a special meeting held last evening <br />IMPROVEMENTS the City Council ordered three improvement projects for 2007. These <br />include: <br />o Viking Drive from Rice Street to County Road B-2 byroad <br />realignment to Minnesota Avenue, road reconstruction, <br />concrete curb and gutter, and drainage improvements; <br />o Canabury Drive from County Road B-2 to Demont Avenue <br />by road reconshuction, concrete curb and gutter, and <br />drainage improvements; <br />o Boss Road from Bryan Street approximately 250 feet north <br />byroad construction, concrete curb and gutter, utilities, and <br />drainage improvements. <br />With regard to the realignment of Viking Drive from its cun~ent <br />intersection with Rice Street, that intersection will be moved to Minnesota <br />Avenue. The City is currently finalizing purchase agreements for the <br />Oasis property as well as 91 and 85 West Viking Drive. McDonald's is <br />planning for the reconstruction of their building, and part of the <br />realignment will involve some land trades with McDonald's to <br />accommodate the realignment of Viking Drive as well as provide a more <br />usable site for McDonald's. <br />PURCHASE The City Administrator presented a purchase agreement for 85 Viking <br />AGREEMENT - Drive. He noted that while the City did not requirement this property <br />85 VIKING in order to re-align Viking Drive, if the City did not purchase it, it would <br />DRIVF, be the only house left in this area. The purchase of this property will, <br />however, allow for better overall grading of the realignment area. The <br />Administrator noted that the property was appraised at $282,000. The <br />City's purchase price for the property is $225,000. <br />The City Administrator indicated that the proposed purchase agreement <br />contains the same contingencies that were included in the purchase <br />
