MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 11, 2007 <br />CONTRACT conh•act. The City Attorney recommended that the contract include the <br />City Administrator's salary. This will result in the need to update the <br />conh•act each time that the Administrator's salary is changed. <br />The City Administrator indicated that he would make that change to the <br />contract and bring it back to the Council for action at their next meeting. <br />CALL FOR The City Administrator recommended that the Council call for a workshop <br />WORKSHOP meeting to review the issues related to multi-family housing and crime <br />prevention/licensing as well as redevelopment. He noted that these are <br />two of the City's 2007 Goals and recommended moving forward on the <br />action plans for these goals. <br />Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION N0.2007--7-165 - CALLING A WORKSHOP <br />MEETING FOR WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 8, 2007AT 6:00 P.M. TO <br />REVIEW ACTION PLANS RELATED TO MULTI-FAMILY <br />HOUSING, CRIME PREVENTION/LICENSING AS WELL AS <br />REDEVELOPMENT FOCUS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />VALOR The City Administrator reviewed the proposed purchase agreement for <br />PURCHASE the City's purchase of the Valor property in Ryan Industrial Park. He <br />AGREEMENT indicated that Mr. Sedaghat, the property owner, has executed the <br />purchase agreement. Proposed purchase price is $640,000, which is the <br />price that Mr. Sedaghat had entered into a purchase agreement with <br />another buyer. The Administrator reported that the purchase agreement <br />gives the City 30 days to do soil borings to determine if the soils can <br />support a masonry building as well as determine whether or not there is <br />any soil contamination on the property. Mr. Sedaghat would like to close <br />on this property by August 15, 2007. <br />The Adminishrator indicated that the purchase agreement requires the <br />property owner to maintain the property and liability coverage on the <br />building. Should the building be damaged prior to closing, any insurance <br />proceeds would be split between Mr. Sedaghat and the City. <br />Keis indicated that he assumes Mr. Sedaghat is responsible for cleaning <br />the property out and removing all vehicles and debris. The Administrator <br />reported that that is correct. The property is to be cleared before closing. <br />
