MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 11, 2007
If not, the title company will determine the appropriate escrow amount to
ensure that there are funds available to clear this property.
The Administrator also reported that as part of the settlement with Mr.
Sedaghat, the City will dismiss all charges against him. The
Administrator recommended approval of the purchase agreement as
presented.
Blesener asked about the provision that the City provide a 1033 letter.
The City Administrator indicated that this letter states that the City is
acquiring the property under threat of eminent domain. Mr. Sedaghat has
a contract-for-deed on the property, and the 1033 letter allows him to get
out of the contract without paying a penalty. The Administrator reported
the purchase agreement also contains a statement that no relocation
benefits are to be claimed. He also noted that the City Attorney does not
believe that issuing the 1033 letter will cause the City any problems.
Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO.2007-7-166 -APPROVING THE PURCHASE
AGREEMENT FOR THE FRED SEDAGHAT PROPERTYINRYAN
INDUSTRIAL PARKAS PRESENTED AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITYADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE
AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). The Historical
Society would purchase the signs and sign brackets, and the Public Works
Department would install them. The signs will have black lettering on a
white background, so they will have a different appearance from the City's
standard street signage. The Superintendent pointed out that the City of
St. Paul has similar signage on a few of their historic roads.
Blesener suggested that different colors be used for the signage to make it
more appealing. The Superintendent indicated that he will make that
suggestion to the Historical Society.
