MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MAY 11, 2015
of Gordies, indicated that that is correct. She noted that the only access
pointes will be two gates in the fencing by the back door of Gordies.
There are two driveway gates further down in the fencing, but these will
be locked during play. Keis asked what the gates will be made of. Kim
Cossack responded that they will be permanent chain link. She again
indicated that the corridor fencing will be black poly and will be put up
and taken down daily before and after outdoor recreation events.
Montour asked about security. Kim Cossack reported that she or a staff
member will be present at all times. Montour noted that outdoor events
must cease by 10 p.m. and asked if people were still present if they would
be directed into the building. Kim Cossack indicated that that is correct.
Keis asked for more information on the personnel that would be present
when outdoor recreation activities are going on. Kim Cossack reported
that there will be someone running the games who will be in control of the
outdoor recreation area. There will be a staff member going to and from
the building serving drinks, and there will be a bartender in the building.
Fischer noted that it was his understanding that the person running the
games was not necessarily a Gordies' employee. Kim Cossack reported
that the person that runs the horseshoes has indicated that he would be
responsible for that activity and for security in the outdoor recreation area.
This individual is not a Gordies' employee. Cossack reported that there
would be a Gordies' staff member, either herself or someone else, at other
recreation activities.
Montour stated that the City wants to ensure the area is policed and that
customers are directed to go inside the building by 10 p.m. Tom Cossack
noted that the lights will be on a timer and will go off at 10 p.m.
Constance Sieger, Fleur Royale, expressed concern with the close
proximity of the Gordies' driveway entrance to Fleur Royale's drive. She
indicated that it is difficult to get out of the Fleur Royale driveway and
that the increased outdoor recreation activity will worsen that situation.
Keis pointed out that the two driveways have been in the same location for
many years. Sieger noted that Fleur Royale only has one drive in and out
while Gordies' has two.
Mike Strub, Fleur Royale, indicated that the residents of the condos have
raised three concerns at both the Planning Commission meeting and the
last City Council regarding the Gordies' application. These concerns are
with noise, general appearance of the property, and who is running
Gordies and who do you contact there to voice concerns. Strub reported
that when Dave Cossack ran Gordies, Fleur Royale and Gordies had a
very good relationship. Strub reported that he has since met with Tom and
Kim Cossack along with representatives of the Fleur Royale Board to
3
