MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 28, 2007 <br />Voyageur Motors has applied for a CUP Amendment to allow outdoor <br />storage. These applications will be considered in the March planning <br />cycle. <br />McCrraw suggested that the workshop include discussion about the City's <br />current codes relative to outdoor storage as well as what other cities allow. <br />The City Attorney indicated that he would prepare a moratorium <br />ordinance for the Council's consideration at its next meeting. Blesener <br />noted that the Council will have to determine the appropriate length of <br />time for this ordinance. <br />The City Administrator reported that the City is required to process <br />applications pending prior to the adoption of a moratorium. He informed <br />the Council that the Code Enforcement Officer has drafted a letter to the <br />property owners in Ryan Industrial Park notifying them to get their <br />properties into compliance with their approved CUP's and site plans <br />otherwise the City will begin issuing citations. The Administrator <br />indicated that the short term plan would be to enforce the CUP's that are <br />in place; the Long term plan would be to change the code relative to <br />outdoor storage. The Administrator indicated that Little Canada has some <br />of the most liberal outdoor storage regulations of cities in the metro area. <br />Blesener noted that one new requirement that is needed is to require a <br />percentage of building usage to outdoor storage usage. Blesener agreed <br />that the Council should review the regulations that other cities have in <br />place for outdoor storage. <br />The City Planner indicated that he will obtain that information. The City <br />Attorney was instructed to put together the moratorium ordinance for <br />Council action at its March 14`x' meeting. <br />ACCIDENT/ The City Administrator reviewed the Finance Director's report dated <br />WORKERS' February 23, 2007 relative to accident/workers' compensation coverage <br />COMPENSATION for commissioners and volunteers. He noted recent Council action that <br />COVERAGE replace an accident policy for Council Members with Workers' <br />Compensation Coverage. Based on that action, staff was directed to <br />review options for coverage for commission members and volunteers. <br />The Administrator reported that Workers' Compensation Coverage for <br />commissioners can be obtained for a total annual cost of $209. It is staff's <br />recommendation that this coverage be put in place for commissioners. <br />Keis asked what the coverage would provide.
