600 Town Center Parkway, Lino Lakes, MN 55014
Phone: 651-982-2400 ∙ Fax: 651-982-2499

A LOMA or LOMR-F requires demonstrating that your structure (including the
deck) is not within the floodplain and may require an elevation certificate from a
certified land surveyor.
The City’s Engineering Department can provide a digital floodplain map of your
property, and in some cases, provide the Base Flood Elevation data of the
adjacent floodplain.
If you were required to purchase flood insurance while obtaining a LOMA, you
may obtain a full refund is possible for up to 23 months of paid premiums,
provided no claims were made during that period.
If you are considering selling your property, consider taking early action. The
purchaser’s lender may require a LOMA to waive flood insurance requirements
and this can delay a closing of property.

Please be reminded that homeowners insurance does not cover damage from floods. Purchasing
a flood insurance policy is wise, even if your property is located outside the 100-year floodplain.
A Preferred Risk Policy can offer low-cost protection for homes and apartments outside of high-
risk zones.

Even if your lender has not contacted you, please review your property’s flood risk by going to
https://msc.fema.gov/portal. You may also stop by City Hall if you would like to see the paper
copies of the map.

References

FEMA Flood Map Service Center: https://msc.fema.gov/portal
National Flood Insurance Program: www.floodsmart.gov or (888) 225-5356 or (800) 427-4661
Flood Insurance Advocate: advocate@fema.dhs.gov
Flood Mitigation Assistance: https://www.fema.gov/flood-mitigation-assistance-grant-program

Please contact City Engineer Diane Hankee at (651) 982-2430 or at diane.hankee@ci.lino-
lakes.mn.us if you have any questions.

WEB SITE ONLY

Attachments

1. 1982 Flood Insurance Rate Map
2. 2015 Flood Insurance Rate Map
3.
