Evironmental Board <br />March 30, 2016 <br />Page 6 <br />Mr. Sullivan would like to add information to the newspaper and would like more <br />teeth in the well head protection plan. Items that he would like to educate public <br />about are water over usage, the poor quality of our lakes and proper mowing <br />practices. <br />Ms. Bor said that we can visit this again at the next meeting but would need a real <br />united effort by all boards and City Council to get behind an item that we are <br />passionate about. Put in on the web page and do weekly updates on how we are <br />improving. <br />Ms. Andrzejewski made a MOTION to recommend adopting the Well Head Plan. It <br />was supported by Ms. Kaufenberg. Motion carried 6 - <br />VI DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Earth Day <br />Annual Earth Day is Saturday, April 23 at Wargo Nature Center from 12:30 — <br />3:00pm. <br />Any updated photos should beent to Mr. Heiskary so that he can upload them to the <br />power point presentation. <br />Seed balls will be the activity and Ms. Bor will order seeds and other supplies will <br />be gathered and made ready for event. <br />B. Site Visit Recommendations <br />Ms. Bor suggested in adding Mattamy development site and also the outlet at Peliter <br />Lake. <br />C. Organics Recycling <br />Most of responses came from the southern and western sections of the city. The drop <br />off sites will be Marshan Park and Birch Park. <br />Ms. Klebba suggested the fire station as a drop off site also. <br />Starting on May 2 there will be a soft opening and limited hours. There will be <br />someone there and also signage during the limited hours. Then a month of limited <br />hours and then on June 6 people that are signed up will receive the code for the <br />locked container so residents on the program can drop off whenever they like. <br />There is information on the city's web site about the program. <br />APPROVED MINUTES <br />
