COUNCIL MINUTES <br />December 12, 2016 <br />211 <br />212 Council Member Manthey noted his work with Mr. Menne in the past; he is glad to hear that he is <br />213 coming aboard. <br />214 <br />215 Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the hiring of Craig Menne as recommended. Council <br />216 Member Manthey seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />217 <br />218 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />219 <br />220 5A) Consider Resolution No. 16471, Approving LED Retrofit Project for Civic Complex — <br />221 Public Services Director DeGardner explained that the resolution authorizes staff to proceed with a <br />222 retrofit project for lighting at the city hall complex. He reviewed the benefits of proceeding with this <br />223 project, including monetary gains and a utility grant that will be included. Funding for the project is <br />224 currently available in the city budget. <br />225 Mayor Reinert noted the sensibility of proceeding with this upgrade project and he offered thanks to <br />226 Mr. Rutz, a city resident and businessman, for bringing this opportunity forward to the city. Council <br />227 Member Manthey noted that the project does not include fixtures and that is a big savings. <br />228 Council Member Manthey moved to approve Resolution No. 17-171 as presented. Council Member <br />229 Kusterman seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />230 5B) Consider Resolution No. 16-172, Approving Public Works Space Needs Analysis and <br />231 Existing Facility Audit Proposal - Public Services Director DeGardner reviewed his written report <br />232 requesting approval to retain services to prepare an audit of the city's public works facility. He <br />233 reviewed the history of the facility and the approaches that will be considered as part of the study. <br />234 Mayor Reinert said he will be very interested in gaining information on this subject. <br />235 Council Member Rafferty noted that earlier in the year, the council received a report on roof <br />236 replacement at part of the facility. <br />237 Council Member Manthey remarked that not only will the city be looking at a better facility but will <br />238 be able to consider the best location. <br />239 Council Member Rafferty moved to approve Resolution No. 16-172 as presented. Council Member <br />24o Maher seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />241 SC) Consider Resolution No. 16476, Awarding Contract for the Installation of Two Air <br />242 Conditioning Systems at the Civic Complex -Public Services Director DeGardner reviewed his <br />243 written report outlining the council's approval of the air conditioning improvements, the concept of <br />244 purchasing the units and having them installed, and the proposal to select a contractor for the <br />245 installation. Council Member Rafferty asked about the contractor's experience and Mr. DeGardner <br />246 noted their experience right here at city hall. <br />247 Council Member Manthey moved to approve Resolution No. 16-176 as presented.
