City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
Monday, December 4, 1995
meet with the board to discuss athletic complexes and to share
some of his expertise on this issue.
George said that he spoke with Tom Wilharbor, Mayor of
Centerville. Some of the property that is being looked at
belongs to Tom's family. Tom said Centerville's plan is to make
all of Centerville MUSA. If this happens it will probably make
the property cost prohibitive.
Sharon asked if Centerville expressed a desire for a complex.
George answered yes, they already have a complex with fields and
they are negotiating to purchasing an additional 10 acres.
George said they have also met with Bill Bisek, from the
Centerville Park Board and he feels a larger facility would be in
their best interest.
Sharon asked where their facility is located. George responded
by Lino's LaMott Park. Marty said if we were able to use the 40
acres of county land maybe we would be able to do a joint
venture. George said we would have to enter into a long term
lease agreement, with the county, because we can not afford to
put capitol improvements into the property and then not be able
to use it.
George stated that he would like this item on the agenda each
month for discussion.
Leonard and Bradley Trail: Marty said that he and Dave Ahrens,
City Engineer, have not been able to get out and look at the
area, pertaining to the drainage problem.. However, he feels
there is enough Class V available to the project next year.
Proiects Update:
Country Lakes Park - Marty reported that the stumps have been
ground out. It will be next year before the seeding is done.
Marty would like to have Kate Drury come out and look at the
wetland areas. Marty said the trails will be moved next year
too.
City Hall Park - Marty reported that the project was almost
complete. Staff needs to put up the gate and the wiring still
has to be completed.
