City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
Monday, December 4, 1995
Rinks - Crews have already been out flooding the rink so we are a
couple of weeks ahead of schedule.
Lino Park - There is electrical work to be done at this park yet.
Sunrise Park - Electrical work has to be done to run permanent
wiring to the stage for Performance in the Park shows.
Other than the project mentioned above, staff is getting into
winter maintenance, planning, and program mode.
Recreation Update: Barry told the Park Board that the December
brochures went out in the mail last week. He said program
registration is up from last year and he hopes this is an
indication that things are being done right. Barry said he still
needs warminghouse attendants for the season.
Tree Sale: Marty said Kim Sullivan is working on a tree sale as
part of the 1996 Earth Day Celebration. Sandie told the board
that we have received several calls in the office about this
sale.
ADA Update: Janet Bona, Adaptive Recreation Coordinator wants to
get a better handle on what is needed in the community and that
is why the survey was in the brochure. Marty said Cliff Holmann
facilitated the last ADA meeting and he did a very good job.
Marty went over the minutes from the November 22, 1995 meeting
and stated he felt good about the progress of the consortium.
Friends of the Park Update: Marty talked about the "What Works
in Government" catalog he received but has not had an opportunity
to look over very good. It lists what is available to non-profit
organizations. He will also be sharing this with the Friends of
the Park Committee.
Barry attended a Friends of the Park Golf Tournament meeting
prior to the Friends meeting. They discussed plans for the
tournament to be -held in August, 1996. He said they put time
lines on the committee.
He said the Friends of the Park Committee did not have any action
items on the agenda. He thought they were progressing well.
They will not be meeting in December because of the holidays.
4
