FIRE MARSHALS DIVISION <br />FIRE PREVENTION <br />In 1994, fire prevention has been a continued effort by many volunteer <br />firefighters and is coordinated by the Fire Marshal, two Assistant Fire <br />Marshal's and the Fire Chief. Fire prevention consisted of the following: <br />-Open House at the Circle Pines Station <br />- Surveying of sixth graders to test fire prevention knowledge <br />- Fire education program for sixth graders <br />- Numerous station tours with fire prevention program <br />- Two Elementary School Camivals <br />- Neighborhood Watch Groups <br />-Visits to three park programs <br />-Fire prevention for four community events <br />-Helped celebrate Smokey's 50th birthday at Wargo Nature Center <br />- Residential Fire Safety Inspections <br />This fire district and many firefighters are dedicated to fire prevention and <br />have spent many hours at various events. <br />A new addition for fire safety was the 1st Annual Safety Camp which was <br />held in August. Circle Pines/Lexington Police, Lino Lakes Police, Lino <br />Parks & Recreation and Centennial Fire worked together to put this event <br />on. This camp covers general safety and was geared to 3rd graders. <br />Subjects covered was: <br />-Personnel Safety <br />-Fire Safety <br />- Bike Safety <br />- Electrical Safety <br />- Water Safety <br />-Bus Safety <br />- Basic First Aid <br />-Firearm Safety <br />Many people from various departments volunteered with this big event. The <br />children had fun while learning the various safety items. They spent and <br />entire day at camp. A graduation ceremony took place at the end of the day <br />with parents also in attendance. This program is very positive and a great <br />addition to our fire education programs. <br />Page 3 <br />
