Semi Annual Report 4 January -June 1995 <br />Department meeting was held on June 27. Topics of discussion <br />included: Representatives from the Alexandra House provided <br />information on the services they provide. They are requesting that <br />our office fax them a copy of any report relating to domestics and <br />assaults; Representatives from Mediation Services provided <br />information on the services they provide; Prison Meeting Update; <br />Entries into private residences; Otter Lake Animal Care Center Update; <br />Crime Free Housing Update; Wellness Program Update; Safety Camp <br />Update; Update Hiring Process; Precinct Update; Public Safety Academy; <br />Bike Patrol; Budget Update and the updates from Equipment Committee, <br />D.A.R.E., Investigation, and Reserves. <br />HUNTING ORDINANCE: <br />Held an informational meeting at City Hall in the Council Chambers to <br />discuss the proposed changes to the Hunting <br />Ordinance on January 31. There were 38 people in attendance and many <br />concerns were voiced. We held a second informational meeting at City <br />Hall on February 28 to discuss Hunting Ordinance, and there were 45 <br />people in attendance. Main concerns were to leave the current footage <br />requirements as they are. <br />Sent the proposed Hunting Ordinance to the City Attorney for his <br />review and rescheduled the informational meeting for May 9 at the Fire <br />Department. <br />Held a Hunting Ordinance informational meeting on May 9 and presented <br />the proposed/revised Hunting Ordinance to the City Council at their <br />worksession of May 17. All concerned people were advised to voice <br />their concerns to the Chief or City Council before July 1. <br />AID TO OTHERS: <br />WE ASSISTED OTHERS over 128 times during this reporting period. We <br />are reviewing this data to assure that our resources are being <br />utilized properly. <br />OTHER ISSUES: <br />CSO Kenow held an orientation meeting with all new McGruff House <br />candidates. There were eleven new McGruff Houses signed up. To date <br />we now have 27 McGruff House volunteers. <br />We received 40 surveys back out of 60 from the Neighborhood Watch <br />Questionnaire that was distributed to the 60 Block Captains. <br />Information is being evaluated and is being utilized as a blueprint <br />for our Crime Prevention and Community Oriented Policing activities. <br />
