Semi Annual Report 5 January -June 1995 <br />CSO Kenow set up a rollerskating appreciation day for the Rice Lake <br />Elementary volunteer school patrol and gave a tour of the police <br />department and a safety talk with Officer Bruce Keller to a group of <br />Boy Scouts. <br />School Safety Patrol kids were taken to Cheap Skate in Coon Rapids as <br />a way of saying thanks for their assistance in this program. Officers <br />of the police department assisted in chaperoning this field trip. <br />The Police Department building was painted on the inside in its <br />entirety. <br />New "Office" software was installed into the network. <br />Sergeant Hammes conducted a safety talk to Lino Lakes daycare center. <br />Nine children were spoken to about numerous safety issues. <br />CSO Kenow completed the crime watch survey. The results were <br />tabulated and typed. <br />Planned and organized a snowmobile saturation patrol for the <br />distribution of the new snowmobile ordinances in Lino Lakes. Planning <br />included the cooperation and assistance of several agencies: Anoka <br />County Sheriff's Office, Anoka County Rangers, Rice Creek Snowmobile <br />Association, Circle -Pines -Lexington Police Department, Waldoch Sports <br />Center, Lino Lakes Police Reserves, and the Patrol Division of the <br />LLPD. This saturation was to occur on February 17 & 18. Due to the <br />lack of snow, it was canceled. Many hours of preparation were spent <br />in planning this project. <br />Sgt. Hammes and CSO Kenow gave a Safety talk to approximately 25 kids <br />who belong to the "Kids Club" at Rice Lake Elementary School. <br />CSO Kenow attended the monthly Safety Camp Committee meeting and she <br />was given some tasks to accomplish before the next scheduled meeting. <br />A grant was written and submitted. <br />CSO Kenow attended a Crime Prevention Advisory Council meeting in St. <br />Louis Park. <br />CSO Kenow attended the Minnesota Crime Prevention Association meeting. <br />These meetings are mandatory for all Minnesota Crime Prevention <br />Specialist toward "credits" much like POST credits. One of the topics <br />was specifically on gangs. <br />Developed and implemented a new timesheet. <br />We were notified that LLPD is a recipient of a "Clinton Cop". We <br />hired an officer in June utilizing the funds from this Federal grant. <br />
