Semi Annual Report 5 January -June 1995
CSO Kenow set up a rollerskating appreciation day for the Rice Lake
Elementary volunteer school patrol and gave a tour of the police
department and a safety talk with Officer Bruce Keller to a group of
Boy Scouts.
School Safety Patrol kids were taken to Cheap Skate in Coon Rapids as
a way of saying thanks for their assistance in this program. Officers
of the police department assisted in chaperoning this field trip.
The Police Department building was painted on the inside in its
entirety.
New "Office" software was installed into the network.
Sergeant Hammes conducted a safety talk to Lino Lakes daycare center.
Nine children were spoken to about numerous safety issues.
CSO Kenow completed the crime watch survey. The results were
tabulated and typed.
Planned and organized a snowmobile saturation patrol for the
distribution of the new snowmobile ordinances in Lino Lakes. Planning
included the cooperation and assistance of several agencies: Anoka
County Sheriff's Office, Anoka County Rangers, Rice Creek Snowmobile
Association, Circle -Pines -Lexington Police Department, Waldoch Sports
Center, Lino Lakes Police Reserves, and the Patrol Division of the
LLPD. This saturation was to occur on February 17 & 18. Due to the
lack of snow, it was canceled. Many hours of preparation were spent
in planning this project.
Sgt. Hammes and CSO Kenow gave a Safety talk to approximately 25 kids
who belong to the "Kids Club" at Rice Lake Elementary School.
CSO Kenow attended the monthly Safety Camp Committee meeting and she
was given some tasks to accomplish before the next scheduled meeting.
A grant was written and submitted.
CSO Kenow attended a Crime Prevention Advisory Council meeting in St.
Louis Park.
CSO Kenow attended the Minnesota Crime Prevention Association meeting.
These meetings are mandatory for all Minnesota Crime Prevention
Specialist toward "credits" much like POST credits. One of the topics
was specifically on gangs.
Developed and implemented a new timesheet.
We were notified that LLPD is a recipient of a "Clinton Cop". We
hired an officer in June utilizing the funds from this Federal grant.
