Semi Annual Report 6 January -June 1995 A Traffic Survey was conducted in March documenting traffic activity on Birch Street, Main Street and Ware Road. Andy Merhar, a sixth grade student at Rice Lake Elementary, a self appointed "Chief of Police" had lunch with the Chief and discussed "Mutual Aid" issues. I met with Jim Miller owner of Miller's on Main Street to discuss services we can provide. Finalized details for the Police Auction and upcoming Heart Ride Bike Tour, and VFW tour all scheduled for April 1995. Several citizens requested home security surveys which CSO Kenow did accomplish. Many were well informed about starting a neighborhood watch group. We expect to hear from them as the weather starts to warm up. Met with various Chiefs of Police to discuss county wide ordinance for activities on area lakes ie: snowmobile races, ice fishing contests and their policies and procedures. We would implement County wide. Completed and presented the Police Department's Annual Report. Completed research and implemented the Employee Wellness Program. Spoke with Anoka County Sheriff's Office regarding whether LLPD would assign an officer to the Anoka County Drug Unit for a 12 month period beginning January 1, 1996. Spoke with members of the Joint Law Enforcement and North Memorial Ambulance regarding pre -arrival instructions. North Memorial ambulance personnel will provide this service if they get dispatched to medicals. Emergency Management - continue to work out the Disaster Exercise which will be conducted at the Anoka County Airport in the Fall of 1995. Met with Roger Winberg from Centerville to discuss mutual aid concerns. The police department completed the oral interviews of the new police recruits. Twenty people were interviewed out of 145 applicants. One officer was hired in June and two additional officers are expected to be hired, one in August and one in September of this year.
