Semi Annual Report 6 January -June 1995 <br />A Traffic Survey was conducted in March documenting traffic activity <br />on Birch Street, Main Street and Ware Road. <br />Andy Merhar, a sixth grade student at Rice Lake Elementary, a self <br />appointed "Chief of Police" had lunch with the Chief and discussed <br />"Mutual Aid" issues. <br />I met with Jim Miller owner of Miller's on Main Street to discuss <br />services we can provide. <br />Finalized details for the Police Auction and upcoming Heart Ride Bike <br />Tour, and VFW tour all scheduled for April 1995. <br />Several citizens requested home security surveys which CSO Kenow did <br />accomplish. Many were well informed about starting a neighborhood <br />watch group. We expect to hear from them as the weather starts to <br />warm up. <br />Met with various Chiefs of Police to discuss county wide ordinance for <br />activities on area lakes ie: snowmobile races, ice fishing contests <br />and their policies and procedures. We would implement County wide. <br />Completed and presented the Police Department's Annual Report. <br />Completed research and implemented the Employee Wellness Program. <br />Spoke with Anoka County Sheriff's Office regarding whether LLPD would <br />assign an officer to the Anoka County Drug Unit for a 12 month period <br />beginning January 1, 1996. <br />Spoke with members of the Joint Law Enforcement and North Memorial <br />Ambulance regarding pre -arrival instructions. North Memorial <br />ambulance personnel will provide this service if they get dispatched <br />to medicals. <br />Emergency Management - continue to work out the Disaster Exercise <br />which will be conducted at the Anoka County Airport in the Fall of <br />1995. <br />Met with Roger Winberg from Centerville to discuss mutual aid <br />concerns. <br />The police department completed the oral interviews of the new police <br />recruits. Twenty people were interviewed out of 145 applicants. One <br />officer was hired in June and two additional officers are expected to <br />be hired, one in August and one in September of this year. <br />
