Semi Annual Report 8 January -June 1995 <br />Officers assisted Anoka County Sheriff's Office in repossessing the <br />Kaiser property at Birch St and Hwy 49. <br />I sent a letter to Chief Ron Nicholas in support of the 800 MGHZ <br />system that is currently proposed by the Metropolitan Council. See <br />copy of letter attached. <br />The Lino Lakes Police Department sponsored a Countywide shoot. All <br />police departments within Anoka County participated in this mandatory <br />shoot. Range Officer Sal Costa organized and wrote the plan for this <br />shoot. <br />The Rice Lake Elementary Math Fair was held on May 4 and 5. The <br />police department built a display showing how math is used at accident <br />scenes. CSO Kenow and Sgt. Hammes worked and demonstrated the display <br />for approximately 1000 students. <br />On May 5 the police department hosted a Safe and Sober project in Lino <br />Lakes. Ten police officers from 9 different police agencies <br />participated. A total of 42 hours were worked that night by the <br />officers. This was at a no cost to the City of Lino lakes. Seven DUI <br />drivers were arrested. <br />The City of Lino Lakes received a Governor's Traffic Safety Award from <br />the State of Minnesota. <br />The Police Department received recognition from the VFW Post #6583 for <br />our participation in their Loyalty Day parade. <br />May Community Policing Projects - see attached memo from Sergeant <br />Steve Mortenson. <br />CSO Kenow spoke with Paul Howard of the Baldwin Trailer Park about the <br />Crime Free Multi Housing program. To date, five officers have signed <br />up to help implement this program in the City of Lino Lakes. <br />CSO Kenow, Sgt. Hammes and Reserve Officer Deb O'Brien chaperoned at <br />Camp Snoopy at the Mall of America in conjunction with the Rice Lake <br />School Patrol as this was the Statewide School Patrol Appreciation <br />Day. <br />CSO Kenow worked on additional Safety Camp resources, lists and events <br />as this event is coming up quickly, it was decided by the Safety Camp <br />Committee to start meeting twice a month. <br />CSO Kenow signed up two additional McGruff House volunteers in the <br />month of May. <br />
