Semi Annual Report 10 January -June 1995
PERSONNEL ISSUES
Promoted two officers to Police Sergeant, Steve Mortenson to be
effective February 1, 1995 and Bill Hammes to be effective February 2,
1995.
Officer Bruce Keller was assigned to Investigation.
Completed evaluations on all Officers.
Josephine Buffington experienced severe back problems and has been
home since March 23. On June 21 Josephine had surgery. She is
expected to be out of work for up to one year.
CSO Kenow assisted the Record's Division the first week in April and
we then hired Karen Bennett to assist in the Records Division until we
determine the length of time Josephine will be gone. Karen has 24
years experience with Brooklyn Park PD.
Officer Strege completed his one (1) year probationary period on April
1, 1995.
Officer Tim Ross received a letter of recognition for incident in
which 7 pipe bombs were discovered after he stopped the vehicle for a
minor traffic offense.
CSO Kenow assisted the Record's Division in entering police reports
into the computer as Josephine was on extended sick leave during the
first two week of May.
We have hired a part-time temporary college student, Wendy Rohwer to
fill in when Karen Bennett is unavailable to work. As Karen is
already retired and drawing from a PERA pension, we must limit the
number of hours she can work.
Renee completed one year of employment.
Officer Bob Fossum received a letter of recognition for an arrest made
of two burglars and drug users.
Officer Sal Costa received an-"Atta-boy" from the Ramsey County
Sheriff's Department for assisting them on an accident in Shoreview.
