Semi Annual Report 11 January -June 1995 Officer Kurt Rausch began employment on June 13 and was sworn in at the Lino Lakes City Council meeting on June 26. Officer Steve Wagner completed one year of employment on June 1 and has successfully passed his probationary period. We were contacted by the Anoka County Youth Services Bureau/Employment program and asked if we would participate in the program. The program seeks to find employment for youth who have either been in trouble or are eligible due to low income. The youth attends school in the morning hours and then goes to their place of employment in the afternoon hours. The youth must be supervised during their hours of employment, and at no time left unattended. This program pays an hourly wage to the youth for their time in school as well as their time on the job. There is no cost to the employer. We agreed to participate in the program and we have Bay Phan working with us for the summer months. Bay is a recent High School graduate and she is assisting in the Records Department. OTHER MEETINGS: Attended the Safety Committee meeting. Attended the swearing in ceremony for the new Anoka County Sheriff, Larry Podany. I attended the Chiefs of Police monthly meetings. Attended a meeting at the prison to discuss an All Hazards, Emergency Plan. Attended meeting with the U of M and VA regarding Center for Disasters, studying catastrophic events. Attended Vision 20/20 meetings on January 24 at Rice Lake Elementary and January 25 at Wargo Nature Center. In addition, CSO Kenow attended both meetings with other police personnel attending the January 24 meeting. Attended Metropolitan Emergency Managers Meetings. Attended Anoka County Chapter of the Red Cross. Met with representatives of the Centennial School District to develop a Public Safety program for children beyond elementary school grades. Prison Meeting - regarding Emergency Procedures. These meetings are progressing at a satisfactory rate.
